Breathwork

Breathing is a powerful tool for transformation. Through conscious breathing exercises, we can release trapped energy, process emotions, and free ourselves from limiting patterns and beliefs. My own experience with breathwork has shown me its incredible power to release old pain, reconnect with my body, and find greater clarity and joy. Now I support others in exploring this transformative practice in a grounded, loving, and accessible way.

Breathwork sessions

Our breath is our life. How you breathe says a lot about your structure as a person. Everyone develops ways to protect themselves. We store overwhelming situations in our bodies and nervous systems until a moment comes when we can let them go. By applying specific breathing techniques, we can invite our nervous systems to release trapped energy, tension, and emotions.

Releasing trapped energy is often an intense experience. The body experiences the information that was once overwhelming, allowing it to leave the nervous system and let us go. Often, different layers are touched upon during a breathwork session. Old emotions can surface, sometimes clearly linked to a specific experience or moment. It's impossible to predict which emotions will arise, and often multiple emotions can be present simultaneously. For example, if we allow ourselves to feel sadness, we often feel relief and joy simultaneously or afterwards. Physically, many things can also be felt: tingling, tension, expansion, contraction—anything is welcome. Through touch, music, and my voice, I help you stay in the moment and create a safe environment. We're not trying to shape your experience. We simply want to create space for your body to use its own wisdom. We create space for whatever needs to reveal itself at that moment.

A breathwork session/circle consists of several phases, with active connected breathing followed by relaxation and integration. We then conclude with a brief reflection. The session always continues to have an impact after it's over. So, keep in mind not to schedule other appointments or important decision-making moments immediately after doing breathwork. Your body and nervous system need time to reorganize, now that old information has been released from the system. Sometimes your body really needs time to settle down. So make sure you bring something to eat and drink. I'll provide this for individual sessions.

Individual sessions

You can use breathwork to explore recurring themes during individual sessions. We combine conversations and a comprehensive intake with various bodywork and breathing techniques. In several sessions, we explore together what's stuck and which patterns no longer serve you. By using breath, we invite the body to release the protective mechanisms you no longer need and to feel what once seemed overwhelming or threatening. The result is more flow, more freedom, and a more authentic existence. You'll connect more deeply with your own wisdom and that of your body.

Breath circles

In addition to individual breathing sessions, I also offer breath circles in small groups (max. 10 people). During the circles, there's less time for individual guidance. There's no intake appointment beforehand, so there's less of an intention. However, breathing together in a group adds a special dimension. The energy of the group invites you even more to challenge yourself to break free from patterns, or to expose your patterns even more. The circles always begin with a brief theoretical explanation on breathwork, a visualization or meditation, and the setting of an intention. After this, we do some exercises to move out of the head and into the body. From there, we move to 40-minutes of active connected breathing, followed by 20 minutes of relaxation/integration.

Contraindications

Due to the (potential) intensity of transformational breathwork, it is recommended that you contact me first if any of the following situations apply to you:

- Pregnancy

- Severe cardiovascular disease (e.g., high blood pressure, cardiac arrhythmias, history of heart attack).

- Severe lung conditions (such as asthma attacks, COPD, or pulmonary embolism).

- Epilepsy or a history of seizures.

- Severe psychiatric conditions (such as psychosis or schizophrenia).

- Recent trauma or surgery to the head, heart, or chest.

- Under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or heavy medication.

In some cases, it's still possible to do breathwork safely. Let me know beforehand, and we'll explore the possibilities together.
